Manager/Supervisor

The HR Manager will oversee the day-to-day HR operations of IFAB Corp., including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, HR compliance, training, policy implementation, and workforce development.

This position will serve as a trusted partner to plant leadership and managers while ensuring HR practices are aligned with business objectives and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

Because of the diverse workforce, fluency in both English and Spanish is required. The HR Manager must be able to confidently conduct employee meetings, investigations, training, and HR communications in both languages.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including attendance, performance, workplace conduct, conflicts, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions while maintaining confidentiality and consistency.
  • Promote positive employee engagement and a respectful, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Act as a trusted resource for both English- and Spanish-speaking employees.
  • Support employee retention initiatives and identify trends affecting turnover and engagement.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly, skilled trade, professional, and leadership positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Manage job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, background checks, and onboarding.
  • Develop strategies to attract and retain qualified manufacturing talent.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, turnover, hiring activity, and staffing levels.

HR Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Support compliance with EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, wage and hour requirements, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and update company policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and HR documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries as needed.
  • Ensure required employment documentation and records are properly maintained.

Performance Management

  • Lead the performance management process, including performance reviews, goal setting, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on effective performance management and documentation.
  • Help establish consistent standards for employee performance and accountability.
  • Identify performance trends and recommend appropriate interventions.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Develop and facilitate HR-related training for employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Support training related to workplace policies, harassment prevention, safety, leadership, and compliance.
  • Identify employee development and succession-planning opportunities.

Benefits & HR Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day administration of employee benefits and serve as a resource for employee questions.
  • Partner with benefits providers and payroll as needed.
  • Ensure accurate HRIS records and employee data.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure HR documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Support payroll-related activities and resolve employee concerns in coordination with payroll.

Manufacturing HR Support

  • Partner with Operations, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to address workforce needs.
  • Support staffing requirements based on production demands and business priorities.
  • Work closely with supervisors on attendance, productivity, disciplinary, and workforce issues.
  • Understand the unique HR challenges associated with manufacturing, production environments, shift work, hourly employees, and skilled trades.
  • Promote policies and practices that support a safe, productive, and accountable workplace.

Bilingual Communication

  • Communicate HR policies, procedures, benefits, and company announcements in both English and Spanish.
  • Conduct interviews, employee meetings, investigations, orientations, and training in Spanish when needed.
  • Translate or coordinate translation of HR documents and communications.
  • Ensure Spanish-speaking employees have equal access to HR resources and information.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated experience in an HR Manager or HR leadership capacity.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, metal fabrication, or similarly fast-paced environment strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish — required.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations and employment practices.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience managing recruitment and staffing for hourly and professional positions.
  • Experience conducting employee investigations and handling disciplinary matters.
  • Strong understanding of performance management and employee engagement.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience in a Tier 1 automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety requirements.
  • Experience supporting a union or non-union manufacturing workforce.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms such as ADP, Paycom, UKG, Paylocity, or similar systems.
  • Experience with recruiting skilled trades and manufacturing positions.
  • Experience implementing employee engagement, retention, and workforce development programs.
